The Molot VEPR is the RPK-pattern Kalashnikov that Molot-Oruzhie of Vyatskie Polyany built for the civilian market: a 1.5 mm heavy stamped receiver, reinforced front trunnion, and a thick-profile chrome-lined hammer-forged barrel — an RPK action chambered for full-power 7.62x54R. Imports ended when Molot was sanctioned in 2017, and the 54R VEPRs have been getting scarcer ever since. This rifle carries a 2016-series serial, so it is from the last production to reach the U.S.
It has been set up as an SVD-style marksman rifle: red laminate SVD-pattern skeleton stock, vented laminate handguard set, and a Russian Pilad P8x48L scope (VOMZ, Vologda) on an Arbalet Patriot K65 quick-detach side mount made in Belarus. The scope and mount come with the rifle.
