This 1975 Romanian MD63 was built by Embach Armory from an authentic surplus parts kit in the “Khyber Pass” side folder configuration — one of the most sought-after AK variants among collectors and enthusiasts.

The Khyber Pass side folder configuration refers to the distinctive side-folding stock assembly that was widely used on Romanian AKMs that found their way through the Khyber Pass region of Afghanistan and Pakistan during and after the Soviet-Afghan War era.
