Description
The Type 80 is the Chinese copy of the Soviet PKM, adopted by the PLA in 1983 after Chinese forces encountered captured PKMs during the Sino-Vietnamese War. Limited PLA service, but exported in volume to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. The 1994 U.S. import ban on Chinese-made firearms cut off the supply chain — what’s already in the country is what we have.
This kit was pulled off the battlefield in Syria. Not arsenal-fresh surplus. Original Chinese exterior with real wartime wear.

Build path
I can build this for you — my Polish PK is the closest reference for what these turn out like, happy to send photos on request. If you’d rather build it yourself, the parts drop onto a VLTOR semi-auto PKM receiver. The Type 80 shares geometry with Russian, Polish, and Hungarian kits, so VLTOR compatibility is confirmed. You’ll need a 7.62×54R barrel — I can supply one separately if needed.
Standard 922(r) compliance applies. The demilled receiver pieces count as foreign-source. Happy to talk through compliance before you buy.
Sold as-is.
