The BM59 is Beretta's answer to the M14: the M1 Garand action re-engineered for 7.62x51 NATO with a detachable 20-round magazine, gas cut-off grenade launcher, and folding bipod. The Ital TA (Truppe Alpine) variant was built for Italy's mountain troops with a folding steel stock, pistol grip, and winter trigger. This example is a James River Armory build — a U.S.-made receiver assembled with original Beretta BM59 components, 'PB BM59' marked throughout, with the 'BM 59 TA / PB' cartouche on the stock.
